This last week we have been staying with relatives, so not doing a lot of actual camping, but it’s been good to catch up with Dads family. Here is my recount of the week…
Tuesday morning, for breakfast I had honey on crumpets. After breakfast Mum and I spent lots of time doing our second blog. While I was doing that Dad, Madi and Lachie went for a drive. By the time they got back I was finished. So Madi, Lachie Dad and I went for a drive to this small footy ground and had a kick with a footy. When we got back we went to the Nhill Boardwalk, and got to walk around a lake but Mum and I jogged. At the little park near the lake there was this really tall slide. I was scared and the kids were right into it but I eventually did it, after a long while! When we got back to Nans house we just relaxed then it was dinner time. For dinner we had shepherds pie. I waited a few minutes to let my stomach settle and then I got to have some cheese cake, it was really yummy! After that I watched the swimming and went to bed.
Wednesday morning again for breakfast I had honey on crumpets. Afterwards, I went on the computer and wrote a story called “THE BOYS WHO GOT DRAFTED”. It’s about two boys named Mitch and Jack who play in Geelong Cats VFL and got drafted to the Geelong Cats and Jack got to be captain. Mitch and Jack were the best in the AFL League and Mitch got 21 goals in a game – the highest ever in a game! After that I got a haircut by Dad.
See my story at the bottom of this blog..
On Thursday morning, we left Nhill, to go to Tailem Bend to stay at my Nans house. We are in South Australia again!! We arrived at 1pm, and were excited to see that Nan had Austar (a bit like Foxtel). We got to watch all the shows I haven’t seen for a while, and I also watched a few movies – Diary of a wimpy kid, Diary of a wimpy kid: Rodrick rules and Penguins of Madagascar and went to bed.
The next morning, Friday, because we are in South Australia, we went to Adelaide Oval to watch the Adelaide Crows train. We were not able to get tickets for the game because it was sold out. After that, we went to Rapid Bay, to look at a cool little campground, then headed back to Nans. That night Uncle Grantley, Lachie and I played Monopoly until 12am.
Next morning we had toast for breakfast, then went to Meningie to watch Grantley umpire a footy match. I had to wait until he got home later that afternoon to play Monopoly again. We also played cards, and Grantley taught Lachie and I to play 500.
That’s it for now, catch you later
The Boys Who Got Drafted
One day there was a boy named Jack, he was 17 years old and another boy named Mitch and he was 18 years old. They were cousins. Those boys are playing for Geelong Cats VFL and they were the best in the whole team with 50 games, 96 disposals, 160 goals, 60 behinds and 50 tackles. All they do is just play footy and train all day. Their coach (Cam) trains hard on them, and that’s how they got really really good at footy. Every day they go to Simonds Stadium to train and train and train – that’s how much they love footy. Jacks’ car is a is a blue ford and Mitchs’ car is a red ford Mitch and Jack has a ford because it’s their sponsor for footy. These two had so much in common and hang out with each other.
One Sunday morning both them boys played footy. Chris Scott (Geelong Cats coach AFL) came down to watch the boys and he saw those boys play and he thought “OMG those players are really good, better than Gary Ablett snr ”. That day those cousins kicked 6 goals. After the game those boys met up with Chris Scott and he asked for Jack and Mitch for there phone number and email. That night just relaxing they both got a phone call and Chris Scott said “7:30 tonight you guys can play for Geelong Cats v Essendon Bombers at Etihad Stadium so get down here.” So they played on debut at the end of the game they both got 7 disposals, 3 goals, 1 behind, 10 tackles and 140 super coach points. Nearly every game they got at least 130 super coach points, Jack cost $590.80 and Mitch cost $586.50, everyone chose them.
The first season they won a premiship because of them. Mitchs’ 400th game they got 6 goals and 12 tackles. Jacks 400th he got 6 goals, 2 behinds and 14 tackles. Mitch and Jack got Geelong Cats 8 premiships. They played very hard to get 8 premiships they had to vs Hawthorn in the grand final and Sydney Swans in the semi-final. Before Mitch and Jack came they only won 2 premiships so, Mitch and Jack made a big difference. Mitch and Jack are the best in AFL they are best and fairest and won lots more things Jack and Mitch made everyone go for Geelong Cats, so lots of people go for them. Jack and Mitch have became so famous.
One day Jack got a call from Chris Scott he said ”you are captain and your cousin is vice captain” Jack said “OMG really I feel so good I can’t believe it – this feels so awesome”. Friday night it was Geelong Cats vs GWS Giants. Jack had to get down there early to sort the team postions. At the end of the game Geelong Cats won by 56 points. Mitch got 21 goals the highest in AFL ever in one game.
Late in the season against West Coast Eagles Mitch goes to take a specky on top of Nick Naitanui falls down and does a knee he’s out for the whole season. We won against Western Bulldogs in the quarter final, we win against Hawthorn Hawks in the semi-final.
We played the Swans in the Grand Final, it was an all out shoot out. Scores were level and in the last second I went to take a specky on top of Lance Franklin and do a ankle falling down. Mitch seems better and comes out for Jack with the Geelong Cats loosing by one point and he kicks a goal!!! MITCH KICKING THE WINNING GOAL ALL OF THE FANS A CHEERING FOR MITCH AND GEELONG CATS IT WAS A BIG WIN the closest win of all time!
Jack won the Norm Smith Medal and led the team around for a victory lap.
It was a very close vote for Brownlow Medal but Mitch winning by 1 vote in front of Jack. Both players were the best in the league by far. Jack was best and fairest. Mitch and Jack got lots of money and they bought an expensive two story house in Geelong. House was worth $600,000 so it was very expensive house and then Patrick Dangerfield came into the club and after that they won lots more premierships.
