The Cape & Old Tele Track – Jacks Blog

We left Cooktown late morning, and our first stop was the Old Laura Homestead. It was a big cattle farm that provided meat to the locals back in the 1800’s. Then we kept going to Musgrave Roadhouse to set up camp. To get there, we crossed 3 creek crossings and the road was really … [Read more...]

Tackling the Old Tele Track

The Old Telegraph Track, or the Tele Track, is a fantastic adventure that takes you through the heart of Cape York. The track itself begins at Bramwell Junction, and extends for roughly 150km, finishing up at the Jardine River. It is only accessible during the dry season, and … [Read more...]

3 months ago All three kidlets now at school!! Seriously, where have the years gone? The kiddos have really settled back into ‘(semi)-normal’ life here in beautiful Tomakin.  #rileyroadtrip   #travellingozwithkids   #nswsouthcoast   #schooldays   #firstdayofkindy

1 year ago Mixed emotions here in Riley land tonite... 321 days, or 10wks15days, ago we left Melbourne to discover this great land. We had no specific time frame, plans or schedule, and it was just pure bliss to not be bound by the everyday constraints we were used to. Tonight, though, we mark the end of our adventure. Yesterday we packed up our camper for the last time, and tomorrow we start on our brand journey..... We can't let you know too much just yet, but what we can say is that we have accepted a Park Management role in a beautiful

1 year ago After the most ridiculous weather the past couple of days, we had an absolute stunner today!!! Exploring more of the South Coast, today we took in the magical Jervis Bay. White sandy beaches, clear water and bright blue skies... We highly recommend putting this at the top of your NSW South Coast itineraries :)  #RileyRoadTrip   #southcoastnsw   #jervisbaynationalpark   #travellingoz   #campingwithkids   #tawk

1 year ago Just in case you've been wondering what those Riley Road Trippers are up to, here we are touching base! We've had a lovely little break from road tripping and social media over the Christmas/New Year period (and most of Jan!) and have instead been staying on the NSW Central Coast. We were fortunate enough to find a great house sitting job, looking after this gorgeous federation home and a beautiful cat. It's been really great to just rest up and chill out, catch up with friends and fam, and explore the Central Coast. The boys were especially pleased they got
